About
Alice Miller is a contemporary abstract artist based in Durham, North Carolina. Growing up in a creative family of screen printers, sculptors, oil painters, and master quilters, she was immersed in artistic craftsmanship from an early age. Alongside visual arts, she studied multiple instruments with a focus on jazz—an influence she credits with shaping her openness to improvisation and abstraction.
Earning an associate’s degree in fine art, Miller explored graphic design and photography before pursuing a Bachelor’s in Marketing and a Master’s in Health Communication. Though this path pulled her away from painting for a time, it also gave her fresh perspective. When she returned to the studio, she rediscovered her artistic calling in oil and digital painting with renewed intensity.
Her paintings celebrate bold hues and dynamic compositions, intentionally steering away from muted palettes to highlight the interplay of light, color, and form. Eclectic in inspiration but unified in spirit, her work invites viewers to enter a space of curiosity, exploration, and discovery.
Through her evolving portfolio, Alice Miller carries forward a legacy of craftsmanship and artistic heritage while carving her own vibrant path in contemporary abstraction.
